The Data Profiler Mission

The Data Profiler is a quarterly publication dedicated to providing accurate and valuable information about the data profiling industry, including announcements of new products, new techniques, upcoming news and events, and other developments.

Topics

Contributors can write on any of the following topics.

·        Tips and Techniques used while profiling source data

·        Project Management issues in incorporating data profiling methodology

·        Data Profiling as related to different projects (CRM, ERP, etc.)

·        Success stories involving data profiling technology or processes

·        Reviews of existing data profiling solutions

Submission Deadlines

The Data Profiler is published quarterly.  The deadline for submissions is as follows.

January 15^th publication – December 15^th deadline

April 15^th publication – March 15^th deadline

July 15^th publication – June 15^th deadline

October 15^th publication – September 15^th deadline

Submission Guidelines

1.      Submissions should vary in length between 1400 and 1800 words.

 

2.      Articles must be original works, not previously published in any form.

 

3.      Be as specific as possible in your submission without violating non-disclosure agreements or intellectual property rights.  Generally, if you’re not sure, don’t include it in the article.

 

4.      Submissions must be written in English.

 

5.      Submissions should be submitted as plain text, preferably with HTML formatting tags (but not required).  If there are any diagrams, graphs, drawings, etc., please provide them separately, as JPEG files, with indications as to where they are placed in the article (again HTML tags preferable).

 

6.      Images should generally be under 610 pixels wide, but if they are larger than 760 pixels wide, we would appreciate smaller versions as well.

 

7.      Please read and spell check before submitting the article.  It is also a good idea to have someone else proofread it before submission.

 

8.      Include a small abstract of the article.  It must be 50 words or less.

 

9.      Please include a description of yourself, including work background, current job title, current place of employment, and outside interests.  It must be 50 words or less.  It may include a web link to your business or personal site.

 

10.  You may also include an email address where readers can contact you.

NOTE:  We reserve the right to refuse to publish any article or review for any reason.

 

NOTE:  Some publications purchase articles.  The Data Profiler does not.  We don’t purchase submissions or product reviews.  Articles and reviews are volunteered by the authors for publication.
